Headland is an Australian group based around Woolgoolga and Corindi Beach on the NSW North Coast. We serve up a mix of traditional and more recent Irish songs, lively jigs and reels, original compositions and contemporary music. Headland's music is built upon the rich voice of Dubliner Robbie Kirwan, Canadian John Gallagher's vocals, compelling guitar & songwriting skills, Kevin Tierney's free-wheeling vocal and instrumental style, Mark Feeney's soaring whistle and flute playing and Steve Dunick's fiddle improvisation and harmony.

All the members have worked on their own music form many years and bring their own unique dimenstions to the group.

We think you'll enjoy our first recording which we've been talking about making for some years - it's been a long time coming .

Headland has performed three times at the Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival sharing the stage with such Australian icons as Eric Bogle, John Munro (Colcannon) and Cathy Gibson & Gary Brown. We also enjoy playing at the annual Celtic Thunder Festival in Coffs Harbour where, in addition to playing some fine music Mark Feeney teaches whistle workshops and throws cabers and other heavy things great distances, and John Gallagher displays his handcarved welsh love spoons.

Our gigs and sessions along the NSW mid north coast keep us busy performing at a variety of venues such as bush weddings in Tenterfield, Music Under the Trees in Sawtell, the Southern Cross University's Sundowner evenings, the Cancer Council's Relay for Life, the Woolgoolga Curryfest and St Patrick's Day at the Hoey Moey and the Amble Inn.

In addition to festivals and pubs, we are available for special occasions, private gatherings, celebrations and fundraisers for worthy causes.
